Bloomin' Yarns is wonderful. I adore that place! Their new location is great, too.

There was supposedly one in Cannonsburg, but I've heard it closed.

Other than that, and Carol's of course, we're pretty sparse on the fiber in the South Hills.

Restaurant... I always enjoyed Tambellini's in Bridgeville (near Carol's), as well as La Bella Bean -- it's a coffee shop with a wonderful lunch menu. I'm sorry I'm not more help in that realm. Jackson's is very nice and at the Hilton Garden Inn in Southpointe.

If you really want a FABULOUS dessert, go to Sarris and have something amazing in their Ice Cream Parlor. It's truly to die for.

Enjoy your friends' visit. Hope they enjoy Pittsburgh!

Thanks! Sarris is actually one of the reasons we're headed down that way - through the years of our friendship I've gotten them addicted to the chocolate covered pretzels.

The website for the Canonsburg store makes me think they're closed too - I feel bad I never made it down while they were open.

we liked Alfono's at the Quail - good food in old mansion with interesting shops on the grounds for strolling afterward
