Hi, I'm the newbie who posted this entry about my traveling to Pittsburgh this weekend. Thanks to everyone who responded, all the info was really helpful

I work a few miles away from that hotel. As others have said, I wouldn't worry too much about the neighborhood. The only thing I have to add is that it's sort of on the airport-parkway corporate corridor, and if you base your impression of Pittsburgh on that, you won't get anywhere near a full representation of Pittsburgh's character as a city

Thanks a lot. I like the idea of getting an overview of the city before traveling through it. While touring Europe, I tried to do that whenever I arrived at a new city.
Anyway, we'll get to Pittsburgh Friday afternoon, and unfortunately it looks like it might be raining. In any case we want to go to the Warhol that night, because it's supposed to be half-price on Fridays from 5-10. It looks like the Duquesne Incline is open almost all day every day, so we might just do that on Saturday.
Anyway, so can you drive up Mt. Washington and then take the incline down and then back up to your car? I assume the observation decks are easy to spot as you drive up there, I've just never done it before. I'll probably stop at a visitor center first thing when I arrive.
