Indian Catering?

Feb 20, 2007 11:27

So I'd like to get indian catering for around 60 people. Does anyone have any experience with getting indian food catered in this city? I was thinking about just contacting Sree's or People's but I'd like to get some ideas from people first.

food: catering

I've had very good experiences with Star of India and they're very flexible with types of foods, etc.

Srees does have that fabulous Oakland/CMU connection, so that would be spiff. From what I've heard they're tasty and reliable catering, so you can't go too wrong.

I'm thinking I'll have to do some taste tests... Up for lunch? Send me some mail :)

You might want to call India Palace, downtown also. They may do catering. If they do, the food is to die for.

My friend used to order for her work from Taj Mahal on McKnight Road and they always got the order wrong.

We have used Tamarind before. It got rave reviews. They are located in Scott Township, but will cater anywhere. I've also been to their lunch buffets and it gets great compliments as well.

If they are as slow in their catering as they are in their restaurant, I would say go with someone else.

I love their food. However, no one should have to wait 20 minutes before anyone comes and talks to you to get drinks, order, etc. I finally had to go towards the back and flag someone down!

Surprisingly, it's been better on weekends when they're really swamped than during the week. I still go there, but only if I have about three hours to kill.
