The first time Damon saw Stefan after their vampiric rebirth, his brother's face was sharp and spirited, blistering as the sun, and Damon didn't trust the look in the green eyes hooded there like forests cloaked in night. The eyes were jaded, reclusive, ready to cast off his very existence. They reflected the darkness of Damon's eyes, piercing straight through to his soul before the silver ring landed at his feet.
