This is a massively comprehensive list of why Gwen is neither a role model nor a heroine!
She is infuriating to the nth degree!
Amongst many many many other things...what WAS she thinking in "Something Borrowed"?? about to snog "shapeshifter Jack..and how was she going to explain loss of the baby the family now thought she was expecting? Or worse, explain why it had strangely pointy teeth (just cos "she had to give Rhys this day"? Cheers Gwen)? And the missing wedding guest/dj?? This episode was sort of put out there as a "bit of fun" (yeah it WAS fun) but it really made me think the woman was INSANE!!!
I'll stop now before I rant!!
I agree with ALL comments here....

Oh I sooooo hated that part of Something borrowed. How the hell did it take Gwen 'I'm the heart of the team so I am' Cooper, half the freaking episode to realise that she was going to have to tell her parents she'd lost the child.

In CoE the major thing that bothered you is that Gwen, for about two seconds, considered abortion?? Nothing about her racist jokes about Filipino children? Or not supporting Ianto when he is subjected to gay-baiting taunts and jibes by Clem?
I loved your entire post but seriously, please let go of the idea that anybody who is pro-choice (which also includes the choice to be a mother, which is what Gwen chose for herself) is some kind of baby-hating monster.

Ghost Machine.

Just want to point out some extra point.

As a secret institute Torchwood must has a safety protocol about handling unknown alien device. Gwen clearly failed to follow it. She just looked at the alien device, which she knew nothing about, and pushed the button in the middle of a street with civilians walking around, who would be hurt or dead if something happened.

If only it turned out to be lethal......(sigh)

Countrycide

What exactly was she thinking when she started the "Who was your last snog" game? Did the supposed heart of the team not notice that Tosh has sort of a crush on Owen and might get hurt by this? And what about Ianto? Did Gwen forget that they shot what was left of his girlfriend not so long ago? Who exactly did she think he kissed last? Or did she not notice he was there at all? Maybe she missed his whole, "When did you last ask me anything about my life" speech... Or did Gwen just do it because she felt the need to rub it in their faces (again) that she was the only one who had someone to go home to?

When Jack saves all their asses from an ignoble death by floristry, Gwen decides he’s a monster for not saving the kid who didn’t want to be saved.

Thank you. I never quite understood how that counted as Jack sacrificing the girl - she clearly wanted to go. And even if she didn't, what exactly did Gwen think Jack could have done?

After Jack dies, seemingly for the last time, Gwen sobs over his corpse for awhile. That whole ( ... )

What got me most about that whole scene was that not only did Gwen not remember about Lisa when she started the whole game, but even after Owen spoke up about snogging Gwen - during Cyberwoman - even then she didn't have the cop on to remember that "Oh, by the way, last person Ianto snogged was shot down by you and your buddies"

No, that whole scene was either Gwen gloating over her own good fortune in having a sucker boyfriend at ( ... )
