this was so lovely, i wish i had more to say about it... your writing is always so satisfying to read, the flow forward through time and just the right selection of details and the gradual revelation of backstory and all the little single lines and observations that feel so true. thank you for sharing it with us ♥

chiha, this is so lovely! ♥♥ I really like your writing style; it's soothing and easy to read, the way you make complex topics like despair, fear, and resentment simple to swallow & digest. I fell into the pace of the fic almost immediately and glided along the entire time. I think my favorite quality about your writing is the dialogue - your conversations always give off a realistic and warm feel, and you manage to pack a lot of subtlety between the lines. this fic is especially interesting because you straddled a very fine distinction between AU and canonfic - because even though it's set in a different universe, lu han's concerns and mannerisms were still those of a celebrity, an image-conscious idol who gave so much of himself to fans that there's not much left for his own personal nourishment. like that part where he tried to joke that he could be anything kris wanted--! I like that you drew attention to how lu han was so pre-occupied with disappointing others - whether that's his parents, yixing, minseok, fans who care about him ( ... )

♥♥♥♥♥ Thank you for the lovely comment. Your enthusiasm makes the meta vomit worth it! There were so many things I was trying to communicate in one fic, so I'm glad you were able to pick up on them.

Kris sounds awkward because he was soooo awkward to write :((! I had to tweak the first half of the story so many times to get his characterization in the right direction. And the xinglu also made me sadface :c I hope Yixing was a good representation of Lu Han's isolation. If not... WELL. THEN. I guess I broke our OTP up for no reason u___u

actually crying as i finish reading this because this side of luhan is so rarely explored in fic and it hurts in the best way ;____;

this is quiet and poignant and i love everything, from the way broken!layhan hurts my heart to the beautifully heartfelt relationship between luhan and minseok. zitao, qian, sehun, jongdae, they are so alive and kris of course, i love how much he affects luhan, how much his presence has changed luhan throughout the fic. great choice not having them get together straightaway, because i think that would have actually reduced the significance of luhan finding himself and what he truly wants and i'm glad we got that separation, not only because delicious bitter-sweetness, but also because this is luhan's story and it's important that he learns how to be himself without kris as a crutch and wow wordspew, but this just gave me so many feelings.

Lu Han and Minseok's relationship was one of my favorite to write! I'm glad you appreciated the separation. Tbh I wasn't sure if I could make Krishan happen by the end when I started to write this fic, but thankfully it worked out! Haha no worries~ Your wordspew is much appreciated. Thank you for reading!
