my little baby faced Lu Han (although he's quite a bit older than me :P) was such a good actor, faking being shot. He scared me, with his "ashen face" and "trail of blood" :'( And the previous part, when Lu Han was like, "I was worried about you" and Kai was like, "I was worried about you".

Oh my God. I have been looking for a decent Kaimin fic for nearly forever (or, rather, ever since those fantaken pics of them from SBS' Gayo Daejun were released) and I think this is it.

It's lovely and endearing and I could totally feel for Jongin. It's straight up true, and the emotions are simple but still raw. I like how you portrayed the relationship and the line at the end. Oh, my poor heart. I love the metaphorical use of the tree and the seedlings and the plant and waaahhh. When Taemin came in with the potted plant, initially I was like, "Wtf. That is the most random thing ever." Then when he said, "I’m waiting for us to perform on the same stage. Maybe by then, this plant will turn into a tree, but I’ll still look forward to it.”

And I'm like, yes, of course. Stroke of genius.

I hope this fic becomes sort of a like benchmark of all the other EXO/Shinee or Kaimin fics that will definitely pour through LJ once the group debuts. This is so wonderful.

aww I'm glad you enjoyed it. This was actually written one or two days before the SBS gayo, at which point I nearly spitted into my laptop because wow, they ended up on the same stage pretty fast. I did try to capture Kai's feelings about adolescence and the peripheral level of jealousy that constantly exists inside of him. I just wasn't sure if it was too ambiguous.

I loveee how you wrote taemin and kai's friendship here. they seem so close, but there definitely must've been some friction with shinee growing more with every release and kai still working as a trainee for the past few years. I'm also super impressed you wrote this way before exo even debuted, because all the characters feel very familiar and real. thanks for writing it~
