These moments in life will define just who Johanna will become. I know from personal experience that you need to let her get hurt to learn. I shielded my son from the hurt he endured from his dad and now he is delusional and for some reason believes his dad was always there and a loving and supportive dad. Though I am glad that Eddie now does have a relationship with his dad it concerns me that he has shit in his head that never did happen. Eddie even has thoughts of knowing his fathers family as a baby & toddler when he never met them till he was 12 years old.

The things that her mother does are very real and you can not change that. Let her learn from it. She has you and Martin to turn to and support her so she will be fine. We all have memories that make us who we are, good or bad. Refund her for her wasted efforts by saying that her heart and thoughtfulness has earned it back for her.
