Today my professor told me that I should seriously consider transferring if I really want to get all that I can out of art history. FUCK.

That is utterly ridiculous. School is what you make of it. You go to an amazing school that I'm sure has a great art history program, and there are other things to life than academics. If you don't want to transfer, you do not have to, because I think you have the right reasons for staying there if you so desire. Go to grad school somewhere that your professor recommends. Also, are they in the art history department? Because if they are, that's just fucked up.

That is my advice.

If you want the most out of art history, you have to get out of the States, and you can do that any number of ways during your life without transferring during undergrad. I say screw what he/she says and just have fun at your wonderful school. I also agree with Rachel. That professor is the one that needs to consider transferring if he/she's not satisfied with the program.
