Elizabeth had really considered just staying home after her encounter with Johanna. She couldn't imagine what had come over her young friend that she had become so uncouth and improper and enamoured of things that Elizabeth frankly found quite shocking. Jeyne sighed, rolling her eyes. "I don't see what there is to be lucky about," she said grumpily. "He always needs changing and always needs feeding." It wasn't like she was going to let the baby starve or anything, but seven hells, it just never ended!

"Oh of course he does," said Elizabeth cooing at Reynald. "Babies need their mothers for everything." That is why they have to come first. It occurs to Elizabeth that she has seen Jeyne sewing. "I was going to spend the afternoon sewing, would you care to join me?" Unlike Johanna who had chose to behave appallingly and run off who knows where.

Jeyne wrinkled her nose. "Ugh, that's all I do is sew, sew, sew. Try to keep Robb's clothes in decent shape, keep Reynald from outgrowing all his at once, always cleaning up some mess or other. No thanks."

Elizabeth thought that was a very unladylike thing to say and slightly taken aback, she fell quiet. Everyone was in a mood today. "But you'll be able to use the ones he outgrows when he has a brother or sister, " she said eventually. "I want at least five myself, large families are lovely."
