Otto is a super genius; I just know these things.
By the way, we showed Owen the candy video and now he just randomly yells CANNDYYYYY! and cracks up. He says he remembers wanting candy really bad one time, lol.

Hahaha!

Last night Otto sang me a song in the bathtub, and it went like this: "ma-MA, ma-MA, ma-MA, ma-MA.... FART!" Laugh uproariously and repeat.

I'm thinking of making one or more for my pregnant friends. they are planning to do cloth. it's been a long time since I've changed a cloth diaper, back when if I recall correctly it was a cloth diaper with a plastic-y diaper cover. does this replace the plastic-y diaper cover?

Yes! A soaker is like a diaper cover and pants (shorts) all in one. You put the babe in a fitted cloth diaper with a wool cover, and the soaker lets air in while stopping the pee from getting out, and the lanolin in the wool neutralizes the urine. So cool.

Thank you. I will have to keep that link in case my friends have any questions or anxieties about it.
my other question is do you think this yarn would be appropriate: http://www.knitpicks.com/Swish+Worsted+Yarn_YD5420153.html
I love merino wool in the clothing I have constructed from it, but I've never worked with it as a yarn.

Nope, that's superwash wool (treated so it's machine-washable). It has to be non-superwash wool to work as a soaker. Soakers have to be handwashed and lanolized in order to repel moisture. Any wool that says "good for felting" will work.
