Otto has some kind of bug. Or maybe a bad reaction to the leftover chili we ate for dinner. Either way, he was up barfing every 20 minutes last night from 2 to 5:30. And then my alarm went off at 6 ( Read more... )

Oh no poor little guy. I'm glad that he's feeling better, and if he was puking chili his throat probably is a litttle raw and sore. :(

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping, that it's just a side effect of last night's rumpus, and he'll be back to 100% when I get home from work.

My sympathies. Sick toddler + 3rd trimester = no fun.

Then later, you get to have sick toddler + sick baby = even less fun.

(When NTS was two months old, NOD had pneumonia and NTS had bronchialitis within two weeks of each other. Children's Hospital in Oakland ROCKS)

I had this a lot when i was a kid. I would barf all night long way past the point of having anything left in my stomach. And it would always be in the middle of the night until dawn. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a recurring illness for Otto like it was for me.

Ugh, I hope not! The poor guy was so miserable just with one night of this. Did you ever get an official diagnosis on what was going on with you?

I went to lots of doctors and had lots of tests done when I was a kid, but to no avail. My friend in college was intrigued by this, and she was the one who figured it out for me when she finally became a doctor -- Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome. It's mostly a childhood disease, so I've pretty much outgrown it (I hope). The last time I had a bout was probably when I was 22.

But I wouldn't worry about Otto having this rare disease unless it happens a lot.

Wow, that just sounds awful. I'm so glad you don't suffer from it anymore!
