I know you're moving and all, but are you guys available for lunch Saturday? Maybe we could bring a pizza or something? Or we will be heading back the following Tu-W-Th [we are planning to camp on the coast for a night or two, we probably won't know our itinerary til closer to then.]
This already looks awesome. I love checkerboard, when I have a house ALL the floors will be checkerboard! or wiggly red stripes.

Where did you find the b/w checkerboard tiles? I looked everywhere for plain black and white but it was discontinued at home depot, OSH and every other place. I even looked online!! I reeeeeeealy wanted checkerboard in the kitchen. :(

It's vinyl, not tiles, and we got it at our local home improvement place. We did have to buy a way bigger piece so we could set it on the diagonal, though.

Oops, yeah I meant vinyl tiles. Just now I looked online again and they are impossible to order. Searching for rolled flooring is equally difficult. Grrr
