a great mother's day!

We had a great day. Sean made me pancakes and bacon for breakfast, and I got to take a nice leisurely bath. Then we went out to check out a couple of estate sales (not much exciting, but I did get a rusty old outer space themed lunchbox from the 60s) and stopped by Jerry's to look at light fixtures. It reminds me of a doorstop in the book I just got, Lote Jansdotter's Simple Sewing. It makes me think maybe you could add some weight to these (Lotte's uses rice or beans and has a handle on top, too, but isn't as nicely shaped as yours) and make a cute doorstop. If you needed one.

I'm not sure! They're this low shrub/ground cover with very short little dark green leaves and tiny little bright blue flowers all over. I see them all over town. We need to figure out what they're called.

No, there weren't any samosas. But the rest of the Indian food more than made up for it!
