That cake is wonderful!
I have a feeling I'm making an octopus cake this January and it will no doubt look like a deflated basketball with arms.

It's a little flag with a picture of an elephant on it, of course.

I like the robot. I got a train cake pan for my birthday -- it makes little train-car shaped cupcakes. Haven't tried it out yet, though.

happy birthday michelle! do you have a robot mold, or did you piece it together? and clearly we need photos of otto in the coat.

i'm pondering a trip to eugene, like dec 18-23 or something? not sure if it'll work out (i just got a second job on contract, needs to be done by the end of december), but just a thought.

Totally pieced, dude. You should see the diagram I made when I was figuring out how to do it without wasting any cake!

There will be coat pics after laundry day. He wore the coat all day Sunday and I realized it REEKED of mothballs (well, I thought it smelled like formaldehyde, but Sean says mothballs), so he isn't wearing it again until I wash it.

And YAAAY for an Elias visit! You should totally come then! We are having a dim-sum style holiday party (everyone brings fingerfoods) that week. And Anne (my best friend since Kindergarten) is coming to visit that week, and you should meet her! But, since Anne is coming, we can't offer you a crash-space, sorry. There are lots of other folks who would put you up, I'm sure. Or you could try out the new Eugene Hostel in our neighborhood, it looks really nice!
