Yesterday I was all concerned about babies. First, I read on LJ about a 7 month old baby who just got sent to the ICU because all of a sudden she wasn't able to sit up, or hold her head up, or nurse, or even cry. Scary! When I got home, I hugged Otto extra-tight and told him how much I love him. Then, when Sean was out at trivia, I made the ( Read more... )

Oh, I seem to have run into umpteen stories about pregnant women getting killed and their babies stolen, this week.

Which is just what I need. Ayup.

Or something. There's just been a rash of crazy women who've miscarried or whatever killing women and taking their babies away. Yecch. Go away, crazy women.

I used to read Ann Rule and watched true crime drama. After the first kid was born I couldn't read or watch it anymore. Nothing with kids dying or being tortured.

Oh yeah. I also used to love Law & Order: SVU, but I can't watch that anymore, either.

I am absolutely the same.
The idea of a child in any danger is enough to make me so uncomfortable that I shake. Yes, I know it's TV. no, that doesn't make it "easier". I say that to people a lot.

It's kind of crazy how immediate the change was, too. Otto came out and I couldn't watch the stuff anymore.

one of my lj friends has watched ER as an escape, doing the fan-fic thing for years. her son was born premature almost a year ago. he died in january, i think. i feel so bad for her because she can't escape to her escape.

after samuel died it make me that much more grateful that several other friends of mine had babies that came out perfectly fine.
