This past weekend I flew to Charleston, SC, where I attended my wee baby brother's college graduation ceremony. He and I have never been close, but I am quite proud of him. I could never really get into jogging because I'd run out of steam after about a minute and be forced to revert to walking. So I tried setting the bar low at first, and then gradually raising it from week to week.

That's how I got into running too, and now I've been running regularly for over two years, and have come to actually enjoy it. It takes a long time to get into shape--I could feel improvements in my conditioning fairly quickly, but I don't think I really started improving my endurance for at least a year.

And yes, the CofC graduation ceremony, hahaha. Did the girls carry the red roses, or have they stopped doing that? (Also, do you remember the name of the BBQ joint in Mount Pleasant? I'm going home at the end of next month, and I'm looking for new places to eat; we get in a bit of a rut.)
