I was very pleased to be able to insert this piece into the general flow of the stories. It sat around half-finished for a looooooong time, and originally I thought it was sort of an alternate take that I'd typed up to sort of explore and process Hart's feelings about the whole sorry mess. Then I realized that I could use it here -- there are things that Hartley has been needing to say and explain, and this brings them to Gio's attention WITHOUT it all being interrupted by Gio's usual distracting banter.
