Cool! It's so awesome that you got the angst in there without ruining the things that make them work together in Countdown.
And it's neat how Piper was letting him suffer, but not for _long_...
And, wow, Trickster must be _really_ fucked in the head to freak out like that over the "groping". Can't wait to see where this goes (and I don't have to! ha!).
Arrrrrgh Piper-woobie! It burns! But only in the good way. Seriously, loved all the insights into Piper's character here, revealed through such little narrative touches.
"Of course," Piper said, and nearly fled to the sink. It took three tries before he was able to hold the glass steady under the tap.
Eek, I want to cuddle him, the poor guy. *grins*
He hadn’t realized until now that he didn’t know; it had seemed irrelevant at the time, like knowing the precise color of the truck that hit you. "It was kind of...random," he finished inadequately.
His sort of hazy, jumbled impressions of his past, the mixed-up heroism and villainy, seem just right for a character who's had such a complicated background.
"Maybe you shouldn't do that again," Piper suggested. He kept any sympathy out of his voice, but put one hand lightly on Trickster’s arm until the tension in his body eased.Oh awkward gen hurt/comfort, how I love it. I also love how all of this is complicated by Piper's sexuality, how hurt he is by Trickster's assumptions. I

The Piper woobie gets worse, but in fairness the Trickster woobie gets extra worse :-).

The amount of times he's had his head messed with certainly doesn't help that :-). Plus this particular time was extra bad: http://community.livejournal.com/piper_trickster/7222.html .
I'm glad you like the gen-ness with implications. We thought it'd be more realistic that way, really.
And yeah, they are both suffering in their own ways, and both really need a friend right now :-).
