Beautiful stuff, Gautam. Dworkin was a man of principle - but also a man of action. He wanted to clarify misunderstandings and get to some semblance of truth, sure; but he also wanted to change society. In that respect he was different from so many philosophers. He will be missed!

Lovely tribute, Gautam. When I first read Dworkin it impacted me too: so lucid and compelling. And the last quote from Dworkin about abandoning the cloak of neutrality and remembering the import of law in life is so true. I'm sorry you won't get your conversation with him, but at least his writings remain. Reminds me of the line engraved in St. Paul's Cathedral about remembering Christopher Wren: "Reader, if you seek his monument - look around you."
