Weekend accomplishments

We finally got someone to come out and trim the trees. The insurance company had been after us because some of the branches were really close to the roof or to windows. It had to be done, but I miss the way it looked having the water oaks and crepe myrtles encroaching on the house. Very southern gothic.

I keep one of those 3-tiered rolling carts in the bathroom so I have a place to stash stuff if I want to take a bath (phone, book, drink, washcloth, etc.).

I really need to declutter my bedroom.

Shrimp toast sounds so good. We just got some big ol' shrimp from Costco and I think I know what I want to do with some of them now other than just grill them.

Hey man, throw out a number. Anything I make is available for sale, I don't need to keep it all. I just enjoy making it.

This is the recipe I used for the shrimp toast. The only change I made was lightly toasting the bread ahead of time, because supposedly that makes the bread absorb a little less oil. And I couldn't find potato bread for some reason--Cajuns are very boring when it comes to bread, they like basic white--so I just used Sarah Lee whole wheat.
