Last night after dinner I was taking Penny for a walk, as I usually do. "Walk" is maybe too organized a word, we usually just amble about the front yard and see if she feels like going to the bathroom; Penny is too small to just turn out into the backyard unattended

Oh, that's hilarious! I love that idea that it's in the wrong house, and they're in there wondering if there is a wormhole, spontaneously ejecting dogs!

It sounds as if it was the right house. I don’t think that the dog would have, first, followed you to the door, and then run right inside once the door was open. I hope it was the right house, anyway!
