How is Axeman? I've been putting it in and taking it out of my cart for awhile now and was wondering what you thought of it.

The Miriam Davis book? Because there are a few different ones. It's the 2nd time I've read it so I like it. She admits to not knowing what she she doesn't know--it's very hard to research murders from that long ago because newspapers are your only primary sources and newspapers in those days were pretty bad, plus a lot of them aren't even around anymore so their archives are usually incomplete. She also does a pretty good job of separating out crimes that at the time got lumped in with the Axeman attacks but probably weren't related.

Still, if you want to read some seriously crazy shit about axe murders in early 20th century America, I can't recommend Bill and Rachel James' The Man From The Train enough. James mentions the Axeman in it, but only to say they were definitely two different guys.
