And in the car. So I'm always looking for new ones, especially since I have kind of high standards for them, frequently dropping old ones that aren't or are no longer meeting my standards.

My newest discovery/obsession is 60 Songs That Explain the '90s. Which just released its 70th episode, so I'm not pretending to be on the bleeding edge of what' ( Read more... )

I graduated high school in 1987 but I am much more about 90s music. Likewise I love late 60s and early 70 s. I kinda feel like we got robbed of good music in my age bracket because music from 1983 through the rest of the 80s was mostly bad canned bubble gum rock. Lol

Also, Closer is my all time favorite 90s song! I’m trying to choreograph some dark fusion belly dance to it but it is a veery long song! Haha

Ha, that mashup is hilarious!

I graduated high school in 1990. I knew about some older music being the youngest of 7 kids. It's not a podcast, but I recently found a YouTube channel called Yesterday's Papers which is basically people reading from an old Melody Maker column from the '60s . It's called "Blind Date With (insert name of celebrity)" and they review the top singles of the day. It's pretty cool and I found a lot of new-to-me music that way. It was also kind of hilarious that in the U.K., the top 40 was rockers like The Who interspersed with super corny stuff like Engelbert Humperdinck (the BF said "it's really technically Pop charts, not Rock").

(Also, okay if I add you?).

Okay and welcome. I recently returned to LJ after a few years away and am looking for new people to replace the old friends who abandoned this place years ago. Us non-Cyrillic writers need to stick together.
