My parents got in a car crash on Friday. They were on the freeway in the back seat and some young girl didn't see that traffic was stopped (on her phone) and she slammed into the back of them at 60mph, without even braking. The trunk is basically gone and my parents weren't wearing seat belts

Thanks, yeah this shit is hard, but luckily it's not life threatening anyway.

I just think of the times I looked at my phone and was like "NO! PAY ATTENTION!" And reading what happened to your mom...this makes it all the more important to put the damn phone down while driving (I sometimes switch songs and look a bit too long).

I wish your mom the best.

How awful! It's good that it's not life threatening, but what a long road to recovery.

I'm happy that Texas finally passed a statewide no texting while driving law. When I see those dumbasses looking at their phones, I want to run them off the road.
