House and Amazing Race

morningwind, heeelp! Somehow my TiVo got fucked up and recorded House instead of the Amazing Race. Please tell me who got eliminated?

I used to watch House every week until I decided to take morningwind's advice and check out TAR-- well, that, and the fact that I've already got enough medical heebie-jeebies right now without seeing it on my TV set. But since TiVo ( Read more... )

I missed House. I wish I lived near you and at least one of us would have been able to make use of it. ;p

*adores the serpent pendant* Snakeys!! That's so cool! And I love that Eye of Heru; it's so unique and lovely.

As for The Amazing Race, OMFG. This recaplet will give some idea of what happened (the recapper lurves Rob & Amber, so be forwarned...nrgh), as well the CBS site, but that was an awesome episode all-around. When the brothers came up from behind after the car accident to pull even with Ray/Deana at the Detour, followed by a Jeep race through bush country and a foot race to the mat, I had to remind myself that I was in a dorm living run and couldn't scream "RUN! RUN RUN RUN RUN!" at the brothers. If they had lost to asswad Ray, I think I would've thrown something at the TV. But even though Ray and Deana had initially had a small lead, they couldn't maintain it in the foot race and were eliminated. And the brothers cried, especially when they heard that their injured cameraman would be okay. Whew ( ... )

forwarned = forewarned
dorm living run = dorm living room
(dun no how 2 spell, lol *headdesk*)

And the new penalty for coming in last on a non-elimination leg (like the first half of this two-hour episode) is harsh. Starting in TAR5, racers in that situation would be forced to give up their money and would receive no funds on the next leg. Now, not only do they get the money penalty, but they have to give up all their possessions and can't get them back until the end of the race. Poor bleeding Gretchen and Meredith were all bewildered that they would have to race from now on with only their passports and the clothes on their backs. (Fortunately for them, all the other teams donated clothes and food to the elderly couple except for -- you guessed it -- Ray/Deana and Romber) But they came in 5th in the second leg! Sorry for criticizing your screeching, Gretchen, because you rock. All the other teams cheered for them as they made it to the Pit Stop, which was really sweet)

Oh! What happened to Gretchen that caused all the bleeding? Is she okay? I wish I could have seen that, I'm really starting to like them. How did the Black couple do? (Still can't remember these people's names...)

There was a Detour choice between spelunking in a cave and interacting with tribes, and Gretchen/Meredith went for the cave option. They crawled through the cave with a lot of difficulty, came out the other end, and expected to be handed the clue. Then they realized the clues were inside the cave, and had to go back even though Gretchen's knees were hurting a great deal. She fell in the cave and got a pretty deep laceration in her forehead (which fortunately only required one stitch) and scraped the rest of her face on the rocks, but she's okay.

I got a huge kick out of the fact that they beat Ray/Deana in a physically demanding Detour (corn grinding in Botswana) the next leg, and came in 5th over R/D's last place (7th) finish. Har har har.

The black couple (Uchenna/Joyce) placed third. Not bad! I'm very fond of them and the brothers, who brought plenty of goofball humor when they weren't, er, flipping their jeep.

I have heard that Australians on the whole are very body concious which would explain the remarks by Dr. Chase. Of course I don't know any Aussies personally, so don't take me completely at my word. Plus, Chase is such an ass - his character cares too much about appearance. Plus he's a scumsucking snitch.

House showed more care about patients in this episode than all others combined. LOL

He absolutely did. :) I did like the Survivor-esque feel to it, though. "Dr. Chase, your tribe team has spoken. You've been voted out of the hospital!"

He's an ass, and he's annoyed me before. But this was way beyond the bounds of reason. One or two bigoted comments, fine, nice way of showing characterization. More than that and I suspect the writers are trying to push people's buttons, and if I wanted that I'd listen to Jon Stewart or Bill Maher or something.

I figured you'd like that one. :) It's you and Tom! Or a pair of Goa'uld. :)

(BTW, what the heck does your icon say? *squints*)
