I can see why they didn't do that, given military culture and the need to follow proper procedures and all that. Given the track record for religious freedom at that school, this needs to be on the record.

I don't know what kind of circles that commenter moves in, but from my perspective, even the thought of being shot at in general, not to mention for being in a religious minority, is terrifying and not something to laugh at. And, frankly, I prefer it that way.
