( All my life, I have always known that my grandparents would not live forever. That is just the way things are. But I never expect Fate to step in and be absolutely cruel about it )

Dementia can be one of the hardest things. Cruel is definitely the apt description. Well done with your writing :)

Thanks bb! It is most definitely one of the hardest things ...maybe the hardest thing for a family to deal with in my opinion.

I'm glad that you liked the writing though--it is based on my RL dealings with my own grandmother. So it is very therapeutic to get it down in writing
