Yesterday, we set out to climb this mountain. It's called Brahmagiri and it's in South Coorg, near the Kerala border. Those lines are apparently the border markings.
That's for the oliphauntses, of course. A resounding "Ewww!" for the leeches; but also a firm "You go, girl!" for your cavalier attitude towards leeches in general, and the finer points of leech removal in specific.
And the photos are gorgeous! That one of the waterfall is going on my desktop as soon as I go back to work *groan*. Thanks so, so much for posting these.
The oliphauntses were all very resolute and all that:o *sigh* Heh:)
I'm glad the leech removal treatise is appreciated:) I'm not sure I'd have been as cavalier if they'd stuck on longer... I'd prolly have moaned long and loud about having to clean my shoes!:))
Glad you liked the photos:) I hope the sight of the waterfall gives you some respite at work:o... there's more here I'm the 32 teeth in blue:)
Sure. I usually go with this lot. The organisation and logistics are slightly sad (they let bratty kids into tough treks and go a little haywire on timings sometimes) but it’s reasonably priced and usually works out okay for small scale treks like this. Nothing too great up for the rest of this month though so waiting to see the November schedule. Kar. Mountaineering Assoc. is sposed to have a nice one this month but I can't figure out when. I'll keep you posted!

But yes the wild elephants were a huge wow.... especially the lone one we spotted later. He was so much closer.

Leeches sure are crummy. I was quite sure I would want to walk around bleeding into my shoes. Laundry would be a pain then!
