I have a private student loan with Citibank, and yeah, they don't take credit cards. I've used up all of my lender-option forbearance time too, but what I'm doing right now is using a graduated repayment option, where I pay relatively little each month for two years and then will pay a higher rate after that (or I think I might be able to extend it further to a total of four years at the lower rate). I had to tie my account to my bank account and make all my payments online in order to do this, though, and obviously it would only be valid going forward; it wouldn't affect this month's payment for you. But if you can use your security deposit refund to pay this month (even a little late), maybe you can do this for future months.
