i spent the weekend baking in the 26 degree sunshine in my Dad's garden, playing with my brother and sisters and eating barbecued lunches. i'm now back in london missing my family, with tired legs from too much trampolining and one sunburned arm, but very happy that the summer seems to have begun ( Read more... )

i'm covering a night shift tonight for a bit of extra overtime cash, which works well seeing as it's the start of British Summer Time and the clocks went forward a few hours ago so i'll get paid for twelve hours and only have to work eleven! i just had soup and toast at 4am. it felt perfectly normal at the time. i'm also sitting here at work in my ( Read more... )

hiddenshallows and i have had a very cultural few days. on Saturday we went to see the London Philharmonic Orchestra play Mozart's Symphony 40 in G minor (excellent) and a couple of concert arias (we can both pretty much do without opera) and Shostakovich's Age of Gold Suite and Symphony 1 in F minor. hiddenshallows was not converted by the Shostakovich but i loved it ( Read more... )
