Not exactly the back-to-fandom post I was looking for, but-

I've put up an sales post on arashi_on's fundraising post for the victims on the Haiti earthquake.

I'll be offering full scanlations of various doujinshies, mainly Arashi, as in: scans + translation + editing (but, again, as I've zero skills in editing - if you feel like volunteering to do this instead of me, please do!)

This isn't a bid, just a question-- how much would you consider if I only want scans, without any of the translating or editing? As in, would I be able to purchase more raw scans from you for the same price you're asking for the full package? Because I am really interested in all the Nino/Aiba Hisaya Nakajo works, but I don't need the translations and I know it would save you a lot more time and effort. Please let me know!

Well... how do 3 DJs raws for 5$ sounds to you? there are a total of 3 Aiba/Nino DJs from Nakajo-sensei (plus 2/3 more which are on their way here right now, but I have no idea when they'll arrive with Israel's horrible postal service). I can do the other 3 for 5$. Does that sound fair? :)

(I'm also planning on scanlating these ones soon anyway, so if it's okay with you, please don't share them with anyone until I do? :X)

That sounds great! Though I think 2, 4, 5 and 6 all seem to be Aimiya, so maybe $6 or something for this? I really just want to read them for myself because I'm really curious how she draws and portrays that pairing, so don't worry about me doing anything with them. XD

I already had about $18 in the Paypal account before I started the fundraiser, so I'm just going to deduct from that and add it to the donation total. (Actually, I was planning to donate all of it to the funds at the end anyway, it's just nice to get little bonuses like this out of it. ♥)

Awesome! I'll try to get these done by the end of the week, k? I'm sorry if it'll be a bit late, I'm over my head with exams and papers and. :||

Dude, I'm willing to do editing if you need the help! I've never done scanlation editing but my google-fu is strong and um, do I really need to convince you that I have the qualifications for editing manga scans in photoshop while being a crazy perfectionist about it? It's a good cause so I want help out if possible.

I thought you said you can do cleaning? or did you mean editing by that? I'm totally confused @_@

I can do cleaning/pasting the text on the scans. XD

Oh lol, I figured you meant only cleaning since editing is something else completely.... then again I'm a PS retard so no wonder I didn't know. :D

No worries, after this semester is over we're starting our group~!!

Would you also be willing to scanlate doujinshi from scans done by other people? I have two Akame doujinshi that I would like to see scanlated. One is definitely R and the other is more of a KAT-TUN gag one.

Sorry, forget to link you to them:

These scans are not mine and she is away in Japan at the moment, but I own these doujinshi myself and should she not give her permission for the scanlation I would scan them as well.

After looking at them for a bit this is what I can offer you:

Volume 08: Should be able to make a complete scanlation, no prob.

Strawberry Flavor: Since the first part of it is a novel, my two reservations are that 1. It would probably take me a gazillion years to translate due to sheer length, and 2. from past experience, translating Japanese 'fanfics' into English usually sounds HORRIBLE because it's a writing style that can't really work in any other language. If, however, you're okay with these 2 conditions, I can give the novel bit a try as well. As for the manga part, it looks totally okay too.

Let me know what you decide! :)

I totally forget to mention that of course I didn't think the novel could be translated. If it is important for the comic part a summary would be perfectly okay.

If you really want the novel translated, I can do it but preferably separately from the DJ itself because it'd delay the release for about forever. :X
So again, if you win the auction - tell me exactly what you want and I'll do it. It may take some time, but it's a good challenge for me too. :):)
(of course I'll make a summery regardless~)
