In praise of symmetry and the Vagina Mine sequence.

I am sitting here and getting ready to break ground on the next chapter of Superman, in which there will be honest by-God actual smutty smut instead of all that panting unresolved sexual tension. Yay!

It's had quite a build-up, and that causes mild discomfort within my authorly brain (I shy away from the leering grin of the anticlimactic climax). ( Read more... )

The original conception of that particular sequence was to be feeling-based, and I'm not sure it would be as interesting to read a feeling-based sequence from the perspective of someone giving head. I just don't know about an in-depth Carl's-eye view of cunt. I don't think my brain can handle that sort of...sort of...sort...oh.

For the record, that sounds SO FUCKING HOT to me.

Yeah, I think I've got it. But I need to get through this weird food-porn thing that's happening first.

All right. I just read all four of those parts (there is only four, right? I'm not missing any, right?) and god damn it. I just don't even know what the hell to SAY.

First of all, you're amazing.

Second of all, this is all weirdly hot and I've seen the movie, I know who Carl is, and it's weirding me out. Not enough to stop reading, or anything.

I like the way you kind of write about what you're writing, or going to write. It's like a little teaser. Oh, and this sentence "I just don't know about an in-depth Carl's-eye view of cunt." for some reason struck me as quite amusing. So good luck with that and I will be here eagerly awaiting whatever you manage to write.

Hi there! Haven't seen you around in a while. How are you?

::blushes:: Thank you. Yeah, it's weirding me out too. But not enough to stop writing it. ;-)

It all started with hijacking film clips from The Cell to make a fanfic trailer video, of all things! After that I was like hmmm, I haven't watched this movie in ages, I remember it was twisted as fuck and full of weird (awesome!) BDSM undertones, and I wanna watch it again. So I did. And then I was all like oooh Carl shiny. Or something like that. So then I thought ooh piercing story would be neat, and then the whole hummingbird/Aztec god of destruction symbolism hit me upside the head, and before I knew it I was off...and...running. I have a tentative outline of thirteen chapters for the first part, and if I'm still perky when I finish that, I'll be writing a whole second part that takes place during the span of time covered by the movie. After that, who knows? This is already six times longer than I thought it would be ( ... )

*waves* =D

It's been a long time since I've seen this movie too. I remember liking it - I watched it more than once - but all I remember is weird. And that one part where he's all strung up in the air by all those piercing. o.O Yeah.

13 chapters? Really? That'll be fun. I'm gonna have to watch this movie again.

The piercings stuck with me too. And the bizarre sexual undertones of the whole thing. I can't recall serial killer elements being quite so sexualized in other movies. In fact, I remembered it as being more explicit than it was. I re-watched it and was like wait...wasn't there, like, semen in here somewhere or something? I remembered very clearly the stuff with J. Lo's character being chained to a bed, and thinking to myself while watching okay, yeah, there's a whole bunch of sexual stuff they aren't showing here. A fic that would've been interesting to write, actually, if I hadn't come up with this one instead. Now that I'm a little older and better educated on actual BDSM the inner voice is like okay movie people, an interest in BDSM does not automatically make someone deviant, there was a better way to depict his twisted mind than through the use of sadomasochistic imagery in the coma dream sequences, because truthfully the sadomasochistic elements just make him kind of hot. And if you ask me the J. Lo character wanted to be ( ... )
