I really liked this. I've been thinking the very same -- it must be jarring to be thrown from being alone and single-mindedly focused into this situation where others are relying on you and helping and. It's so tragic to think that Erik never really had a friend before & would have to learn what that means.

So yes, this was perfect!

Thank you for your comment!

Even though that montage scene was really awesome, I just kept on thinking about silly things like how it would feel to eat breakfast with a bunch of teenagers, sharing the gym with someone or even just how boring the coordination of the plan must have been. And this is all after a life of vengeance and murder. Slight issues there. ahahah

But thank you! I really appreciate your comment :D

This was really good :>
and I agree with you, about how Erik would have trouble focusing on himself. You did an awesome job writing him

Oh, this made me ache.

Not sure if it was intentional, but that last paragraph was so bittersweet. I love that you've brought them together, but they still don't quite fit and it's so realistic, that Erik has had to hide the fact he's Jewish, then a mutant and now bi/homosexual; you can't blame the guy for thinking the world's against him. Then again, he's not necessarily giving in, is he? Love's a two way street, and if he's doing that for Charles, to make Charles happy, then it's progress in some shape.

The little parts between Alex and Erik, and Banshee and Erik were nice. It's good to read him interacting with the kids too; I've seen it mostly just Charles written as doing that, but Erik's take on who they're turning out to be, and the respect he's got for them too was good.

I'd very much like to see more from you. :)

and sorry - seems as though I've written you a novel!

ahaha yes, that last paragraph was intentionally bittersweet. I don't imagine that Erik would have had a really good opportunity to explore his sexuality, the same with Charles. I mean, I honestly believe that both of the boys have their share of experience with women but not even a shred with men. After all, back then, it was hard to believe how conservative it all was.

And you totally got that! In my head, if he was to be private for Charles, I believe that his return would be therapy. I mean, the training is a few months at the most and in that time, he makes considerable progress. I think he'd do anything to be fine and dandy.

I really wish there was more fic on the students and their observations on the relationship. *hint hint to anybody reading this*

But THANK YOU SO MUCH for your comment, I love how long it was and your exceptionally kind words and I'm all giddy now. yay! Kind words!! :D

Aye, and their circumstances - Charles's wealthy upbringing and Erik's brutal childhood would've put thoughts in their heads about what other people were like, certainly wouldn't have made simply settling down together an option. But it's the painful and awkward sweetness between the two that really does it for me, I hafta say.

Indeed, and there's so much trust there. They could've got there if it were always just the two of them, but it's never that simple, huh.

.. oh, you've unleashed my plot bunnies; been musing over this all day (life, what life?) and I've got something up my sleeve I'm going to work on over the next few days. Will see how I go.

You're very welcome - hehe, it's the English graduate in me, what can I say ;p.

I really want to read a fic about Charles' childhood, that sentence or so about his mother really had me intrigued! You're totally right though, the painful sweetness really does it for me. And definitely the hesitation they have, because it is JUST SO OBVIOUS. Argh, I wish they weren't so cute so that my head could be released from their beautifulness! :D

ahaha I think this pairing just destroy's life entirely. I'm meant to be studying, comm! Stop posting amazing things that catch my attention! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY, LINK ME WHEN YOU SMASH IT OUT. I would love to read whatever you create :D

The last part is so sad, but so real. I like that you brought up the issue that homosexuality would have been indeed quite taboo in society. Good job on the fic ^^

I was hoping to do a kind of realistic take on the whole situation and even though Charles is very open minded, I think a life of reading minds would have made him really sensitive to external opinions. Thank you for commenting and I'm glad you liked my fic :o

That was such a beautiful fic, I really loved how you explored Erik's mentality and his relationship with Charles. *hugs Erik* The scene with Alex was pretty great as well.

Yes, I'm also a Bobby/John fan, so I'm looking for something like that with the students... not that Bobby/John didn't end up turning into the new Charles/Erik. But hey, Charles can give advice to Bobby and Erik to John on how to keep a relationship going with someone from the other side. ^^
