The minute that Tommy looked into my eyes, it was like the planets all aligned. Everything in my life had been leading up to this moment. He was the one. Then I found out that he had a girlfriend. He was straight. Completely off limits. I should have been devastated, but I couldn’t help feeling like everything was happening for a reason.
As Tommy and I got to know each other, I fell deeper and deeper. I know in my soul that he was the one for me. Somehow, I just had to make him see it…had to make him feel it.
By the end of the tour, Tommy and I were both broken. He had lost his father. He was exhausted. I had suffered through the loss with him. We had both endured the hate from people who didn’t even know us. We needed to get away. We needed to recuperate from everything.
Tommy and I decided to go on vacation together to Fiji. Initially, it was supposed to be a whole group of our friends, but in the end it was just the two of us.
The first few days, we slept and ate. We didn’t have the strength for anything else. Once the fatigue faded, we began to explore the islands. It was an absolutely beautiful place.
One day after a hike through the rainforest, we found ourselves at a waterfall. It was easily the most beautiful place that either of us had ever been. We decided to go for a swim.
“This is amazing, Adam.” Tommy declared as we swam around.
“Yeah.” I agreed.
“You’re amazing.” Tommy stated as he stopped swimming.
I stopped as well. We stared at one another. It was like the first time I met him. I felt like all the pieces were falling into place.
“Adam, you make me feel all these things that I’ve never felt before. I feel like I can’t even breathe sometimes. I feel like I’m at the edge of something. I’ve felt like that since the moment I met you. I should be scared, but I’m not. I just want to jump in…with you.” Tommy explained as he moved closer to me.
I listened to him and tried to process what it was saying. Was he really telling me that he felt it too?
“Tommy, I…” I began to say.
He silenced me with a kiss. It was perfect. We were caught in the moment as we deepened the kiss. Suddenly, all the pieces were in place. Everything we had been through had been leading us to this moment. For the first time, in my life, I felt truly happy about everything.
“I love you.” Tommy breathed as he broke away from the kiss.
“I love you too…so much.” I replied as I leaned in to kiss him again.
