Dougie would be an interesting choice. If only he could speak like the Stud Who Hits Bombs Dougie...that would be awesome.

No I haven't, but it sounds good.

Other being the Coli in Oakland. That's the only park I've been to.

Anyone who picks to kick the Marlins to the curb has to answer to me. XD.

And the "other" that I've been to is Angel Stadium, FYI. :op

Eck and Roberts made Announcer Boy sound like he had some special brownies that night. Maybe he did...

Bethie must have taken this poll too -- YES to a baseball team for Charlotte, please!

Also (ahem)...when Pujols is pronounced CORRECTLY (either in Spanish or the original Catalan) it doesn't sound nearly as bad. The English-speaking announcers seem to enjoy mangling it.

What's the correct pronunciation?

I didn't even get that it was dirty until my mother pointed it out a few day ago...

First, in Spanish, the "j" has no real equivalent in English. It's not a pure "h" sound, though, because the back of the tongue is raised towards the roof of the mouth a bit. If you're familiar with the Scottish word "loch," it's something like that. Maybe someone here who speaks Spanish can explain it better than that. As for the "s," it's a hard S (like the end of the word "nice") rather than "z" as in "buzz." Also, the "u" sound is a tad softer than a straight "oo." When I've heard Albert say his own name, it's a little bit closer to the vowel in "pull." When you put all of the above together, it's not nearly as undignified as "poo-holes."

I've seen a couple of discussions of the original Catalan pronunciation, and it apparently is either "puh-yawlss" or "puh-jawlss."

Ah, thank you! I took Spanish for many years in school, but they always told us "j=h". I'm going to have to work on the pronunciation! I get annoyed when people screw up foreign players' names really really badly and don't try to find out the real pronunciation- ugh, if I have to hear people call my favorite player "HO-zay" instead of "ho-SEH" one more time, I'm gonna rip them a new one. And don't get me started on "Dai-soo-kay" and "Ko-soo-kay".... I'm glad I'm able to try and fix my own mispronunciation! :)
