Very very very nice comeback tonight for the Red Sox. Down 7-0 after 2, they came back to win it 10-8. Big heroes include Nick Green and Jason Bay. Bay hit a 2-run shot to get it going and a sac fly. Green hit a 2-run double to tie them up. The bullpen did awesome as well particularly Manny Del and RamRam :) I'm working on the nickname, cut me some ( Read more... )

I took Baseball Lit (definitely one of my favorite classes this year) as one of my English classes and we went on a field trip to Cooperstown. Longest bus ride of my life. I say I spent the day at the HOF when really I spent 11 hours on a bus and maybe 5 in Cooperstown.

OUch. THat's rough. I'd probably prefer to do something where it's an overnight trip or a weekend trip. It sounds like it'd be a lot of fun.

And Baseball Lit? Holy crap I'm jealous. I wish they'd teach that at my school or even in high school (I always wanted to be a part of the advanced class in English in 11th grade because they got ot read Shoeless Joe)

Yeah, Baseball Lit is probably one of the more popular senior English choices. We read Shoeless Joe, The Natural, Eight Men Out, Moneyball and a crapload of baseball poetry. When Blessing isn't talking about baseball he's gushing over poetry and art and symbolism and all that fun English stuff (I had him for Humanities in 11th grade too, haha).

DUDEEEE, if you can pick a Saturday (idk if it's open Sundays?) I would totally take a trip to the HOF with you. I went in 2007 and it just ... it's amazing. It's only like a 4 hour drive, which isn't bad considering. So, yeahhhhh. :)

And re: the game, Amanda and I were listening on the way to Pawtucket and heard the seven-run inning. By the time we got to the proshop it was 7-4, then as we were leaving I checked my phone and was like "...Uh, the Red Sox are winning?" and we flipped out a little, lolol. Fun timessss.

And yes, the alternates suck. I hate alternate unis as a rule, except the Marlins' silver-and-black jerseys. Everything else can GTFO as far as I'm concerned. :P

There is no doubt in my mind Baez's pitch to Youk was unintentional. Did you see the look on his face afterward? He put his hand on his head and started walking toward the plate with his mouth agape. He was so worried, it was almost endearing. But, yes, Penny needs to either GTFO or not get knocked around for seven runs by the Orioles.

I don't have any particular problem with the alt jerseys, but I hate the "hanging Sox" hats. HATE. They're so ugly and, hello, why change one of the most iconic sports logos in history? (Next to the Yankees, that is.)

Cooperstown. Waaaant. I would totally go with you if my parents wouldn't flip a shit. :P
