I was bored so I did this up...as I said I'm bored and this shit happens...I basically surveyed every MLB team and picked the weirdest/funniest full names/middle names. Apparently Chris Snelling's fans have a habit of calling him Doyle! I think something to do with not jinxing him (he's had a big injury every season)? They also call him Yoda because he uses "Do or do not, there is no try" as his motivational mantra. :-)

Boof changed his name for a really personal reason I guess. My cousins grew up with him down in Florida, and he was named John after his dad. I guess his dad was a drunk who basically left the family and didn't help them out so he wants nothing to do with his dad.

O_o Oh dear. I'm sorry, I didn't know that. I thought it was just him being a bit of a goofball, or at least that's what the Red Wings' yearbook inferred (obviously they weren't going to go into such sensitive detail about the real reason). Thanks for the clarification!

Yeah, I didn't know about it and my cousin told me and I was like "ohhh". But I slept in the same room Boof did at one time! Pretty awesome haha.
