Your "binkies" and why?

We all have that one player, no matter the sport, that we defend to the end. That one player that you nearly get into fistfights over with friends/family trying to defend them and usually end up looking mildly stupido. It's kind of like a blind allegiance, for example Peter King is madly in love with Brett Favre, Tim McCarver wants to have Derek ( Read more... )

1) Shea was my first, and while I was really pissed off at his asshatery,I have forgiven him because, in a sense it was kinda liek "in the heat of the moment" kinda thing. oh and I must show you this article how he talks about how he's still a little bitter about leaving the Red Sox BUT he always calls himself a Red Sox at heart

Ya know I wouldn't mind having him at 1B if he doesn't act like a dumbass again

2) Yeah everybody loves Tek, I like Tek too but he's not at that level
3) I think almost all of New England has him at this level

Dude, Patrick Roy was my boy back when I used to watch hockey. I was an Avs fan of all things, but that was only a bit of a phase. It was him and Adam Oates that I liked in Hockey World.

He's 4 months younger than I am, and he'd just won the Montréal Canadiens the Stanley Cup in 86 months before I moved there to go to school for a year. I just identified with him because we were the same age and in the same city, or something.

Understandable, most def. I'm sure there'll be a player like that in baseball that I'll latch onto in time who is my age. Hell there's a guy out there whose YOUNGER THAN ME playing(Felix Hernandez) I feel a little old.

It's okay. Sometimes, it's like that. Even if they're playing for the damned Yankees, you follow them. Hell, I'd probably follow most of these guys if they became Yankees....not too sure about Bronson....

I agree with you totally on Wake and (who doesn't?) Ortiz. And I agree with bakoo on Tek (obviously), and maggiesox on Trot, because Trot is awesome.
My other ones would definitely be...
Orlando Cabrera, duh. I defended him during his few months on the Sox, because I just had almost an instant affection towards him. Even when he strikes out or makes a (very) rare error, I love him. And my mom calls him my "boyfriend", and that should be proof enough how much I openly like him, because she hasn't even caught on to my adoration for V-Tek.
Bill Mueller is another, but honestly, is there anyone in existence who actually dislikes him? Even when he made a bunch of errors near the trade deadline I still loved him.

Right now I think my #1 is Delonte West, the Celtics' very own Keebler Elf. As I typed that, he just fouled out- but seriously, the refs pick on him so bad. He plays hard and hustles and I love him, but he gets so many calls against him. Grr.

Yeah Orlando is your number 1 binky, I can see. Tek is a close second. I dunno if there's really anybody who dislikes Bill Mueller. Well except for maybe Mariano Rivera and Yankee fans.
