The sodium vapour lamp glared at me as I looked out of the window. I felt comfortable in the shadow. The joy and sorrow of my world.. I remember watching the hands of a wall clock and wondering if I'd ever live long enough to see the hour pass me by. Strange things affect us in strange ways.
