This is what I'm actually reading at the moment. One of my professors [Rev. Ike Skeller] gave the class this book and told us that if we didn't read it, that we would have a D in life. Mind, we don't actually use letter grades, but the point stands. It's actually a really amazing book, and kind of makes you feel like you want to take the world! Speak way and live the life. ... and all that. In it's own, odd little way. It's not really anything over 200 pages and kind of a light read. (Especially considering books like those of Shusaku Endo. Don't get me started on him.) and even if I'm not finished with it yet, I get why people are like "OMG BEST BOOK EVER!!!!" Only... how... theologiaons say it.
To quote an example:
I will always be grateful for my being introduced to
Christianity Rediscovered: An Epistle to the Masai by Vincent J. Donovan. I can’t recall how many copies that I’ve given away over the years but it runs well into double figures (a wee plea: this is not a gloat but an indication of how highly I view this book). The book continues to have a profound influence on the way I think about Church, mission and the Gospel... -Jason Goroncy.
So, if you're up to that kind of book. Go... read it? I don't know.
But that's my 30-day meme post... for... the day. :)?
