Thank you!
I've been looking around a little for a real aiguillette the last week or so, there are silver DDR ones that are usually not impossibly expensive, but there were none to be had in the local militaria shops, unfortunately. Swedish vintage military braidwork is gold-coloured, in 99 cases out of 100, and the 100th one tends to be blue and yellow, not silver. This is just a piece of silver cord and a silver tassel.

Blue and gold is nice, but they clearly wouldn't go with this outfit. Gold is just an awful, vulgar colour any way you look at it. I'd say definitely hold out for those DDR ones. If you absolutely cannot find any I can probably get something nice over here and send it to you.

Awful and vulgar has its place, though (in Russia! Russian and Soviet uniforms would not be the same without the gold) but I agree, I don't like it much either.

I've seen the DDR ones on ebay, will probably snag one there at some point. I was just hoping to find one in time for last Saturday (and having something very specific to ask for gave me a good opportunity to oil up the surly guy who runs one of the vintage militaria shops around here a little). It's incredibly kind of you, though! If there's anything you'd like to get hold of in these parts, just tell me.

Ahhh..the first one looks just BRILLIANT!! And the dress looks perfect! I love that place, simple and full of space! Such spaces are so rarely to be found in Krakow, specially for alternative parties, gigs :( Most of them just takes place in underground (literally) little clubs, located in old vine basements etc, that are so popular around all city parts. I miss spacecious clubs!!

Yes, and Kolingsborg looks especially good now that they've brought out the concrete and those old frescoes. It has a long history of hosting EBM/synthpop/industrial events, too, which is part of why this is so sentimental.

We have our share of tiny basement clubs, too - not right now, but there have been a number of venues like that. Swedish alcohol politics tend to make venues like that short-lived, though (I have great memories from a basement in Old Town, previously used for winter storage of dead bodies, and both a former garage and public bathrooms converted into clubs at Odenplan) and the larger, more established ones are not that interested in small scenes like ours here either.

I just realized the perfect accessory for this outfit:

Hahah, totally! And I could make someone switch the plug for one that fits my cellphone. Or, you know, not play the incompetent little woman to get people to do stuff for me just because I'm lazy, and do it myself.

Only devoted nerds would even know what you were hinting at, and to everyone else, it would just enhance your music lover credibility. "Wearing headphones in a nightclub? Damn, she's hard." Either way, you win.

Hah. I'm not sure that's how people would see it, they're kind of used to me and my getups around here... But it would be a nice touch if I could make it functional, somehow. "Accessories" like that are always little tricky to pull off, I think - like the half-masks that are apparently rather fashionable among the kids, and those mass-produced fancy goggles with spikes and prints on the eyeglasses, it becomes silly in the extreme if you don't manage to make it look at least like you might get some actual use out of them.
