[Shinji lay in an awkward splay of arms and legs on the Northern Lights floor. A nasty bruise had started to form on the right side of his head, and both his ears were bleeding a little from the noise shock of the explosion. Despite that, he had a ridiculously peaceful look on his face.]

[Anemone wasn't really sure what to do with Shinji now that he was inside. After making a nice deformed snowball for the new bump on his head, she had perched herself on her knees next to him, sulking.

So she couldn't hear, and Shinji wasn't there to play peacekeeper, and Wolfwood was close enough to bother her by his presence, and Gulliver had been freaking out. He was now just a shaky little ball of fur curled up in front of her, Shinji's hat now set on his head to keep him quiet and calmer.

[There had been no use in talking since the explosion. He'd only looked at his comm long enough to see what had happened. After that he didn't leave Shinji's side. The shock of seeing him laid out in the snow still stung in his memory, the stunned devastation he'd felt at the sight still lingering along with powerlessness at his failure to do anything about it, then or now. He hardly even cared that it was Anemone who was looking after him right now. Neither of them could hear, even if his own hearing was already beginning to return thanks to his modified body.

Some good he was... sitting here, useless, only able to watch Shinji's eerily peaceful face in the hopes that he would awaken.
