It really saddens me to see how many people are pissed off at the amount of support being given to Haiti now. I understand that things like America's poverty rate, the economy, etc. are major issues not to be taken lightly, but people being angry because we're trying to help out in a place that desperately needs it? It was! I thought it was awesome of him to talk about the good times he's had with NBC. I really hope he comes back with another show for another channel. :(

Even the Philippines, a third-world country with so many huge problems of our own (plus all the crap that comes with upcoming elections), is giving a lot of help to Haiti even though we could use some help ourselves. And yet I have not heard anyone from here complaining. In fact, what I hear/read are pleas to help Haiti. Even on LJ, friends are willing to commission fic/art in exchange for donations to helping Haiti.

If people from a third-world country can do that wholeheartedly, I think America should be able to do it, too. So. *kicks the complainants*

What's really sad that its just not Americans who've written this crap. :( I just saw one of my Spanish friends write something like that on their Facebook. Its just horrible that people can't see past their own countries.

... Spain isn't exactly wanting, either. Argh. THEN GO DO SOMETHING ABOUT ALLEVIATING YOUR OWN COUNTRY'S PROBLEMS INSTEAD OF JUST MOUTHING OFF ABOUT THEM, GOD. If a humongous earthquake hit YOUR country, would you say no to help from other nations?? AAAAAAARGH.

To be honest, I haven't been keeping track of the Haiti happenings, really, and what people think about it, so basically all I've seen is people wanting to support and help out Haiti. It's really ridiculous that people are complaining about it. Then what would they think if something happened to their country and other countries refused to help because they were dealing with their own problems? We're all human. Ugh, some people are just ridiculous. But yes, well said, Pixie! :3

Ok, this Haiti thing, really is it that big of a deal to help a country that went through a devastating catastrophe? What if the tables were turned? I would be so eternally grateful for any help at all! And I mean, at least we have a roof over our head and can do without one night out at the movies (easily at least $10 a person w/out snacks from the concession stand). Come on now.

Yeah. I have been going off on my facebook friends who post about that. It is quite an offensive attitude, in my opinion, so I haven't been able to keep my mouth shut/fingers off the keyboard.
