I was at the exit seat on one of the commuter flights when I went to Germany last fall. There were two guys beside me and we joked for several minutes about how quickly we could get the door open to escape onto the wing. Because, naturally, we didn't want to block the exit or anything.

We were later asked if we felt we could handle the responsibility of being at the exit during an emergency. It was all we could do to not burst out laughing.

I don't think the Major would have been amused.

So cute! I love Klaus' take on sitting in the exit aisle (SO him) and him threatening to open the hatch was also very amusing. I can just see Eroica with his head on Klaus' arm, all smug and happy to be close to him *sigh*

Kimmie stood by the door to the aircraft, smiling woodenly at the passengers as they disembarked. That horrible German brushed by without a word. She let out a sigh of relief, glad to see the last of him. His traveling companion favored her with a sympathetic smile. She waved to him, wondering what a charming man was doing with that brute. He wiggled his fingers back, then hurried to catch up with the German's quick march.

All the cute ones are gay or taken, Kimmie mused. Or both.

Hehehehe. I can imagine. I always unnerve people on a plane by doing that. I can see that Klaus is unnerved.

I'll admit, that part was partially inspired by Luc in French Kiss:

"Me, I love to fly. Especially this moment. The plane getting ready to charge the runway. The engines screaming. The pressure building. The force of it slams you back in the seat. And then... you are in the air. Everything else is behind you. There's only one other place in life where I feel this kind of exhilaration."
