Must say, I also wondered if it was a Scott Pilgrim reference. But that seems really weird for NPH.

I don't know, I'm pretty sure it's just a coincidence. We'd probably know if it was important enough to him to name his son after it - I wouldn't have been surprised to see a Jim Hensosn reference in there, after all.
