He's just the standard Pike doll they made for the movie actually:

YAYS!!!

I found out today that the Playmates tunic actually fits the Mattel ken as Kirk better--so I swapped my Ken-as-Kirk tunic on my Pike, so they match. I love your reroot Number One! That's amazing!

Matching tunics=love

I ended up dyeing and trimming actually. Though I may reroot her in the long run because I'm not sure if it set fully...

What did you use to dye it? Because the hari is plastic, most dyes don't take, and you have to be really careful cos Sharpie and the like will seep into and discolour the vinyl of her face over time.

I just put my Pike in Kirk from mattel's tunic yesterday, and oddly enough Kirk looks better in Pike's Playmates tunic than he did in his own.

My house currently looks like a doll factory...

It is the weird permanent marker method, which I was way skeptical of in the first place but I had opportunity and time so I tried it anyway(also: finals insanity). It isn't rubbing off on the vinyl or clothes just trace amounts on fingers if I do much with the hair. It'd probably be safe for display but I don't want to risk it. So either I'll pick up some RIT dye (which I know works and is doll safe) and go over it so it's dyed properly or I'll reroot. I just have to get the time to do the change.

Go figure, that is sorta awesome and magical.

EEE! She's gorgeous, obvs.

(Any chance I could finagle instructions/alteration adivce out of you? Because my own techniques run more towards, well. "add seams to the back where you can't see them and buy matching thread later.")

You mayyyyy. I'll get pics of the inside and such. I am of the 'make shit up as I go along' school of sewing incidentally but I am getting good at it. (Mostly: if there is a seam; You will have to sew a new one inside it.)
