I believe, and this is merely my interpretation of the layout, that the Wikipedia article on "theocracy" lists "parties and movements" with theocratic tendencies by country. That is, the nations are not necessarily theocratic; rather, the theocratic parties are simply listed under the country in which they exist.
Sorry if this kinda kicks your soapbox out from under you! :( But at least you can feel more comfortable knowing that we're bombing those foreign devils* in the middle east in the name of Big Oil Profits rather than in the name of Our-Version-of-God.
As for teaching "intelligent design," my second thought -- and as Dave Barry might say, I'm not making this up -- after hearing about the Kansas decision today (for my first thought, see my comment at molecularman49) was... are you still tracking with this convoluted sentence... if I'm ever in a position where I am required to teach "alternative" origination theories, I will definitely present for consideration the Flying Spaghetti Monster theory.
