Of course, it was, in part, in reaction to these wild sixties that conservative Republicanism took root in America. Main Street Americans were a little disturbed by these druggy, promiscuous, rock 'n' roll times.

what was the alternative? mk ultra.. police state control. i would have to say this is the white man's disease in search of himself. man in search of his soul. republicans don't seem to have a conscious or even a soul.. but i could be wrong. easy rider. that's the end of republican angst, some redneck truck driving hunter like sarah palin taking pot shots at the symbol of free and easy. the first amendment, for instance. grace slick almost popped a pill in nixon's drink at the white house. should have happened. never did.
