few celebrate much anymore mostly this happens in quebec it was a rural catholic holiday it came from the church in old france nowadays, i'm not sure who still celebrates it

suffice it to say, i never got the day off we have canada day july 1 this weekend which is ironic since after the past 3 years of covid has thrown into question whether there even is still a 'canada'
